I’ve just updated the website for the studio where I work and put a bunch of somewhat recent work up, so I thought I might show a few of the commercial projects I’ve been working on lately. A lot of the interesting work has been illustrations, but recently we’ve just finished an animated TVC for Bridgestone which has just gone to air here in Australia.

The others had done a few similar ads with the gecko in Max before I started working here, but since our animator is becoming more familiar with Blender, especially due to the nice animation tools we have now, we decided to have a go doing this one in Blender (everything except modelling, which came out of Max). I was responsible for the lighting/shading/rendering.

The final animation (3MB QuickTime).

Here’s some other recent work that I’ve been involved in, too:

  • Magazine cover
  • Rugby league concept (I did lighting/shading/background set)
  • Brushed steel shader test (using the same model)
  • Print advertisement (rock sculpted from scratch in sculpt mode)
  • Outback pub set, for internal project
  • Internal R&D animation project, to teach the other guys Blender. Three of us made this 30sec pseudo-commercial in about a week and a half (I did teaching/lighting/shading/sets)
  • Raccoon Illustration (I did the background set, the raccoon was done in Max/Photoshop)

  • « some new rendering things | Another delayed update »

I saw the Promotion reel a little while ago and was blown away with how much familiar work you guys had done. Can’t wait to see Blender on the small screen, tho!

Great work as always. Love the brushed steel…

Can’t wait to see what becomes of the pub…are you going to let us see the final production when completed?

So nice to see that you’ve ‘infiltrated’ the camp. Are the rest of the gang getting into Blender?

      Nice work!

I always looking forward to reading an updated blog post with any new developments you’ve been doing with Blender recently ( either to be committed to svn, or private changes you’ve made just for on-site projects ).
